CLOCK CARE & MAINTENANCE
Most maintenance should be left to the specialists, they will ensure with great care that the oiling of the clock's movement is delicately done. Wooden cases may be lightly dusted and occasionally, very lightly waxed. Silvered and brass dials are usually protected by lacquer and should never be polished or be in contact with water or detergent. Be sure to carry spring driven clocks with short pendulums in a upright position. For long distance journeys secure or remove the pendulum. Long case clocks should be dismantled before enduring any journey.
CARING FOR YOUR ANTIQUE WATCH
A properly and cared for watch will last for years and can be passed down to future generations. They are relatively delicate so try not to drop it. Avoid extreme heat and cold temperatures to prevent moisture of any kind getting in. Be sure to protect it from freezing. Never put your fingers on the moving parts inside your watch. Always place the watch in a protected display or holder when not in use. To remove prints and tarnish use a nonabrasive jewelers polish cloth. Have your watch professionally serviced every few years by someone you trust. Professional care and maintenance is imperative as the oils inside tend to dry up which will cause excessive wear. With proper care and servicing your old antique pocket watch, timepiece will last 100's or years.
